VOLUNTEER SERVICES

Search the width and the breadth of the USA and you’d be lucky to find even a handful of hospitals the size of YRMC with a larger — or more dedicated — group of volunteers. Our volunteers, who now number more than 750, collectively donated 87,204 hours of their time, energy and talents in 2004, working in practically every area of the hospital, making an immeasurable contribution to patient health and comfort and helping the hospital create its highly acclaimed Total Healing Environment.

YRMC’s volunteers assist the hospital’s professional caregivers at YRMC West in Prescott, at the YRMC Del E. Webb Outpatient Center in Prescott Valley and in outreach programs like YRMC Hospice. They work in every department in the hospital, ranging from Intensive Care and the Emergency Department, to Patient Services and the Business Office, to manning the Information Desk and helping in various therapy departments. YRMC Volunteers also provide therapeutic Pet Visits and Bedside Music, enhancing our patients' stays.

Everyone age 14 and older is invited to become a YRMC volunteer, and all that’s asked is that you be willing to:

Volunteers are integral to the operations of YRMC and strive constantly to help us achieve our mission of providing the best possible healthcare to our communities.
