CHILDBIRTH CLASSES

Preparation for Childbirth, a six-week course open to all expectant families, is held on an ongoing basis at YRMC West in Prescott and the YRMC Del E. Webb Outpatient Center in Prescott Valley. The class meets weekly for 2½ hours and expectant mothers should plan to attend during their sixth or seventh month of pregnancy.

Preparation for Childbirth provides mothers-to-be and their labor support persons with information on coping techniques, non-pharmacological and medical pain relief, “average” labor, variations in labor, Cesarean birth, self-care, how to care for a newborn baby, CPR and safety, and related subjects.
