NURSING
Welcome to YRMC's Nursing web page! At YRMC we believe that our staff is our best resource. If you're interested in making a difference and participating on
a team that is recognized as an Excellent Employer by the Arizona Nursing Association, please read on.
You truly can make a difference. Our patients and their families tell us this. If you are looking for a place where you can make a difference,
where your knowledge and skills are valued and where your ideas appreciated, come to YRMC. You will see for yourself the supportive environment for nursing,
the commitment to patient care outcomes and the opportunity to build professional relationships and friendships within the framework of our Total Healing Environment.
YRMC is expanding in almost every area of service with major program expansions underway for cardiac services, surgical services and endoscopy services, and the
building of a new hospital in Prescott Valley. Future expansions are planned for perinatal and obstetrical services and additional services needed in our community.
This is a great time to be in nursing and this is even a greater time to be with an organization like YRMC. YRMC's mission, vision and values will carry it into the
future and create a healing environment for our employees as well as our patients and their families. We believe we demonstrate our values in the following ways:
- Respecting and honoring the uniqueness of our staff by providing nursing excellence awards and providing mentor recognition and customized orientation for our staff.
- Accountability is demonstrated daily in patient care outcomes and support of our nursing staff with excellent nurse-to-patient ratios and organizational support for the delivery of patient care.
- Commitment is demonstrated by ongoing education provided by our educational staff and commitment to state-of-the-art technology to support patient care, as well
as support for seminars or professional education offered throughout Arizona.
- Quality is demonstrated by using professional standards for patient care and by evaluating and modifying practice through our Nurse Practice Council, which is comprised of
staff nurses who also participate on hospital-wide and unit-based performance improvement activities. YRMC has had a Clinical Ladder in place for RNs for approximately four years.
This is available to all RNs working directly with patients at the medical center and recognizes their knowledge, skills, education and volunteer work or community activities.
- Integrity is demonstrated by follow through and developing programs and support to enhance patient care and nursing activities. These include developing an admission/discharge/transfer
team, the addition of clinical coordinators on the nursing units, the approval of a lead mentor program, and most recently the initiation of a Rapid Response Team. YRMC is committed to
staff safety as well as patient safety and provides ancillary support systems such as physical therapy on the nursing units to assist with patient mobility.
- YRMC is the proud recipient of the Arizona Nurses Association Excellent Employer award. This award, along with other recognition that we receive and feedback from our patients
and their families about their care, reinforce our commitment to investing in our nursing staff that we believe translates into improved patient care.
