Medical, dental and life insurance benefits are available effective the 1st day of the month following employment.
Paid Time Off (PTO):
The Medical Center offers a paid time off plan called PTO.
This paid leave benefit includes vacation, holiday, and sick leave time. You will
have the flexibility to schedule your time off for additional vacation time if you
remain healthy and minimize sick time off. Unused PTO may be carried over to subsequent
years up to certain maximums. You will accrue paid time off for each hour you work, up
to 80 regularly scheduled hours worked each pay period. PTO begins accruing from your
first day of employment and may be accessed after completing 90 days of employment. The
rate of PTO accrual increases after you have completed 3 years and again after 8 years of
employment. Accrued but unused PTO hours are paid upon separation of employment provided
you have worked at least 90 days.
Medical Insurance:
The medical plan provides benefits for hospitalization, major medical,
home health, mental health, discounted prescription services, and preventive/wellness coverage.
Employees scheduled 16 or more hours per week are eligible. The cost of employee participation
varies with scheduled hours, deductible options and with the selection of individual, employee
+ spouse or child/children, or family coverage. Coverage is effective the first day of the month
following employment.
Dental Insurance:
The dental plan provides benefits for preventive and basic and major
services. Coverage is free for full-time employees. You share in the cost for dependents and if
you are a part-time employee. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following employment.
Life Insurance:
The Medical Center provides free life insurance and accidental death and
dismemberment coverage to eligible employees. The life benefit is equal to your annual salary
rounded to the next highest thousand dollars. Exempt employees are provided a benefit of two
times their annual salary. Employees also have the option of purchasing additional voluntary
life coverage for themselves and/or dependents. Coverage is effective the first day of the month
following employment.
Flexible Spending Accounts:
The healthcare and dependent care spending accounts allow
you to pay for dependent care and healthcare expenses not covered by YRMC plans on a pre-tax basis.
*Retirement:
The Medical Center provides a Tax-Sheltered Annuity (TSA) retirement plan
that allows you to save money on a pre-tax basis. After you have been employed for one year, the
hospital will match your contributions, dollar for dollar, up to 5%, provided you work 1000 hours
per year. STAT employees who are not regularly scheduled may contribute to this program, but will
only receive matching funds if the above criteria are met. You may participate in the TSA plan
immediately upon employment.
Extended Illness Time (EIT):
A short-term disability benefit is provided to you through
our Extended Illness Time. EIT hours are accrued, based on the number of hours worked. EIT benefit
is available after 24 scheduled work hours missed due to sickness and may be used after 90 days
of employment. EIT may be accessed directly if you are unavailable for work for one calendar week
and have been hospitalized for any part of that week.
*Wellness Benefits:
Annual health assessments are provided free to all employees and
at a discount for spouses. Exercise and weight equipment are available without charge during posted
hours through our Pendleton Center. Local health club discounts are also available for YRMC employees.
Long Term Disability:
The Medical Center provides protection in the event of a catastrophic
illness or injury through a Long Term Disability plan. To be eligible for this benefit, you must be
regularly scheduled to work 30 hours a week. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following
one year of employment.
*Shift Differential:
Employees working second shift will receive 10% shift differential;
third shift will receive 18%. We also pay 5% weekend differential.
*Cafeteria Discount:
All employees are eligible for a 20% discount off the posted visitor
charge.
*Credit Union:
All employees may immediately participate with direct deposit or payroll
deduction with Arizona Central Credit Union of Phoenix and Arizona State Savings and Credit Union
in Prescott.
*Direct Deposit:
Pay checks can be deposited directly to your checking account at most
banks and credit unions. All employees are eligible to join upon employment.
Relocation Assistance:
Applicants in job classifications considered Hard to Recruit may be
offered a percentage of anticipated annualized base salary in relocation expenses (moving van, mileage,
meals, lodging en route) provided the individual is moving a minimum of 33 miles from Prescott. Relocation
costs are reimbursable to the Medical Center if the new employee terminates within one year of the
employment date. This assistance is a taxable benefit.
