FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER
The Family Resource Center of Yavapai Regional Medical Center provides families with infants and young children the support that helps them strengthen family bonds and promotes the healthy growth and development of their children. To serve the needs of entire families, the Family Resource Center offers area residents the benefits of two voluntary programs at absolutely no cost. The programs are:
FIRST STEPS
The First Steps program brings comfort and understanding to the parenting experience by helping parents and families adjust to their new relationship. At your request, the Family Resource Center’s caring and well-trained First Steps staff is available from the day of birth for individual assistance and guidance. Services include:
- A hospital visit after your baby’s birth
- Educational materials
- Links to community resources
- Warm line telephone follow up calls
- A developmental calendar for your baby
HEALTHY FAMILIES
Healthy Families assists new families by providing emotional support and parenting education, with special attention paid to each family’s individual needs. The program includes:
- A hospital visit after your baby’s birth
- Home visits until your child is five years old
- Family support group activities
- Bilingual Spanish home visitation available
- Individualized parenting education
- Services tailored to your family
