The YRMC Business Office – also called Patient Financial Services – handles payment for all YRMC services and will work with you to ensure that your insurance company is billed in a proper and timely manner. For any questions related to a patient bill, you may call us at (928) 771-5151 or visit with one of our customer service representatives, who are available at YRMC West in Prescott. For directions, see a YRMC volunteer at the front desk in the main lobby.
What insurance name and policy number do you have?
It is important that the information you provide is accurate and up to date. If
your insurance changes we need to make a copy of your new insurance card and place
it with your record.
Have you billed my insurance?
Your insurance is billed after we receive all of the necessary information, which
is generally within five to 15 days after your care was completed.
Do you follow up with my insurance company?
Yes, YRMC does follow up with your insurance company. And if for any reason we have
difficulties with your insurance company, we may ask that you assist us in resolving
the claim.
Have you billed my secondary insurance?
If you provided YRMC with information for a second insurance company, it will be
billed after your primary insurance has paid.
How long does it take to get a claim paid?
Payment varies by insurance company. Some pay in as little as 5 days and others
may hold the claim for 90 days or more. That's why we ask for your assistance in
resolving the claim.
I have never been to your hospital. Why do I have a bill from you?
Your physician’s office or a surgery center may submit your blood work, urine or
tissue specimens to the hospital for testing. If YRMC performs the test, then we
must bill for it.
When will I receive my portion of the hospital bill?
We will bill you when we know how much your insurance will pay and how much of the
balance is your responsibility.
I received a statement, but how do I get an itemized bill?
To receive an itemized statement, please call us (928) 771-5151.
Can I designate a person to handle my hospital bill?
Yes, you can certainly designate a person to handle your hospital bill, but he or
she must be listed on your account.
Can I pay my account with a credit card or debit card?
Yes, you may. YRMC accepts Master Card, Visa and Discover. Debit cards are accepted
as long as one of those logos is on them.
Can I make a payment arrangement on a bill?
Yes, YRMC does make payment arrangements. We do ask, though, that the guarantor
of the claim call and provide the financial information that we’ll need to help
us make the appropriate payment arrangement.
