What insurance name and policy number do you have?
It is important that the information you provide is accurate and up to date. Admitting/Registration staff are required to confirm the information on file
and to make a copy of your insurance card and place it with your record.
Have you billed my insurance?
Your insurance is billed once all of the required information is completed; normally within 5 to 15 days after your care was completed.
More time may be needed if documentation is missing related to this occasion of service.
Do you follow up with my insurance company?
Yes, YRMC does follow up with your insurance company and if we are having difficulties with your insurance company, we may ask that you assist us in resolving the claim.
Have you billed my secondary insurance?
If you provided YRMC with a second insurance, it will be billed once your primary insurance has paid.
How long does it take to get a claim paid?
Payment varies by insurance company. Some pay in as little as 5 days and others may hold the claim for 90 days or more. That's why we ask for your assistance in
resolving the claim.
I have never been to your hospital, why do I have a bill?
Your physician's office or surgery center may submit blood work, urine, or tissue specimens to the hospital for testing and
result reporting back to your physician. If YRMC performs the test we bill for it.
When will I receive a bill for my portion of the claim?
YRMC bills the patient once the balance is the patient's responsibility.
I received a statement, how do I get an itemized bill?
To receive an itemized statement call 771-5151.
Why can't I designate a person to handle my hospital bill?
You can designate a person to handle your hospital bill, but they must be listed on your account and be on record.
Can I pay my account with a credit card or debit card?
Yes, you may. YRMC accepts Master Card, Visa, and Discover. Debit cards are accepted as long as one of these logos is on them.
Can I make a payment arrangement on a bill?
Yes, YRMC does make payment arrangements but we ask that the guarantor of the claim call and provide financial information to help us make the appropriate payment arrangement.
