Did you know... In 2010:

• 1,053 babies were brought in to the world at our Family Birthing Center.
• We treated 11,019 inpatients on our two campuses, YRMC West and YRMC East
• 67,697 patients, approximately 1,302 each week, received care in YRMC's Emergency Departments.
• The clinical laboratory completed more than 676,862 tests.
• Our dedicated Medical Imaging Services team performed 118,978 diagnostic imaging procedures and introduced Advanced Digital Mammography.
• The highly skilled team at YRMC's Cardiopulmonary Laboratory conducted 38,081 examinations in order to identify and treat acute or chronic problems of the heart and lungs.
• The skilled team at the James Family Heart Center performed 167 open heart surgeries and 147 thoracic (chest) surgeries.
• Our Diabetes Education team helped 1,213 individuals with diabetes better manage their health in order to prevent hospitalization.
• A vigorous community outreach program reached 55,460 residents with complimentary, current health information.
• YRMC's Family Resource Center advised 2,132 area residents on how to best care for their newborns through the First Steps program. An additional 2,884 families received ongoing support and home visits through YRMC's nationally accredited Healthy Families program.
• YRMC offered smoking cessation classes for nearly 300 people who wanted to give up tobacco in 2010.
• A compassionate team of more than 44 professional therapists performed 79,451 procedures through YRMC's comprehensive Physical Rehabilitation program.
• 906 dedicated volunteers collectively donated 100,412 hours, breaking the 100,000-hour mark for the fourth year in a row.
• YRMC's Speakers Bureau conducted 81 speaking events which reached 1,960 community members.
• More than 1,052 visits were conducted in 4 school districts by our Partners for Healthy Students program.
• 484 individuals participated in Childbirth Education, One More Time and Breastfeeding Support classes.
• 142,560 respiratory therapy procedures were performed.
